Oregon Trip

Fun In Portland

Ok, this is (1 month) old news by now, but I really wanted to post a couple of pictures from my trip to Portland last month.  Went to visit a friend I hadn’t seen in over 20 years and had a fabulous weekend.

The Portland Farmers Market is incredible.

We picked up some beefy asparagus to try this new recipe for Grilled Asparagus Rafts which was easy to make and tasted amazing.  We picked up a few other things, had some great pita’s for lunch there at one of the stands and then  grabbed a basket of strawberries…the sweetest, most perfect strawberries…for dessert.  Well for our first dessert, that is.  For our second dessert we shared a vegan, gluten-free lemon tart from Petunia’s  (also completely amazing)

We also took a stroll through the Rose Garden and…

…the Portland Japanese Garden

…stopped in at the Audubon Society to say hello to the birds…

…fell in love with Hazel, the Northern Spotted Owl who was out for some fresh air and sunshine when we arrived…did some shopping along 23rd Ave…..ate more yummy food at a little mexican restaurant there…

…got to meet Lin’s two beautiful, smart and talented daughters…

And it was beautiful sunny weather all weekend!  What more could a girl want?
